This year real winter came to Belarus only in February. Then "Poisk" began to perform another job - the recovery of the Soviet T-34-76 medium tank near the village Grebnitsa in Vitebsk District. The vehicle's precise location was checked with magnetometer.

After that the ice, silt and mud was removed from the funnel. In-spite of very low temperature (down to -33°C) the water constantly filled the funnel and interrupted our activity. From the other hand frost played positive role as well: during the night time the funnel edges became completely frozen. It helped us a lot in deepening the funnel day by day. Finally, the depth of the funnel appeared to be about 5 m with the diameter of 7 m. The T-34-76 turret and front part of the hull laid down on the bottom.

Looks like the tank attacked and rammed the German fortified position created in marshy area. The impact was so strong that the munitions inside the tank detonated and blew up. The armour was teared like a paper. The 76-mm gun was thrown out of the turret.

After preparation all discovered fragments were recovered within three hours. We plan to use all recovered parts for restoration of the T-34-76 tank, which then would be placed as part of memorial monument "The Field of Buinichi" near the city of Mogilev.
