Local people told us about the Soviet aircraft which crashed near the Luchessa River (to the south of the village Noviki) during the WW II. This coincided with the official data taken from the Russian Central Military Archive.
Search with magnetometer showed the presence of metal on the depth of about three meters in the turf marsh. There we found badly burned fragments of an aircraft covering and piece of wing. Neither serial number not even a type of an aircraft was determined, mostly because all parts were too small to be identified.
There were also no traces of the crew members or their relics. Probably, initially an aircraft made an emergency landing, then it was abandoned by the survived crew members, and used as a metal scrap during or after the War.
