About Us

Military-Patriotic Club “Poisk” (“Quest”)
It was founded in the Belorussian town of Shklov in 1998.

Founders of the Club are Valery Nikolaevich Semushkin - the Chairman of the Club since the time of foundation, and professional diver Igor Vladimirovich Matiuk - the Head of the Technical Group, responsible for surfacing of historical military equipment.

Our Club’s main activities
- patriotic upbringing of the young generation;
- studying and searching of little-known parts of both World Wars;
- searching for and restoration of military equipment lost and abandoned during Napoleonic, First and Second World Wars;
- co-operation with the other similar organizations;
- international military-historic co-operation.

Our Club main Branches:
Data Collection and Searching Group. This Group is searching and collecting data in archives, looking for eyewitnesses and participants of those historical events. Our specialists are studying and comparing all available information and making reconnaissance, searching for lost and abandoned military equipment (mostly tanks, armored vehicles and artillery guns) in rivers, lakes and marshes.

Our Searching Group is using modern research equipment (magnetic, hydro- location and echolocation instruments). In case of necessity we are using air-reconnaissance as well as very old non-traditional methods - for instance, water divining.

The Head of the Data Collection and Searching Group is Vladimir Alekseevich Yakushev. Surfacing of sunk and submerged items of military equipment.

This is the main Club’s technical  activity since the very beginning. Our Technical Group has developed unique surfacing methods and tested them during real field operations in very harsh conditions. It is equipped with very powerful towing and traction equipment, and full set of steel ropes and pulley blocks. Divers are using the most modern underwater equipment and instruments.

During field operations our personnel is provided with specially designed mobile living premises installed on military truck chassis.
High quality photo, video and TV equipment is also available.
More then 20 unique items of military equipment were surfaced since the creation of the “Poisk” Club.

Restoration Group
It was created when we found and surfaced first tank. As of now this Group restored more then 10 military vehicles of different types.
