T-34 (T-34) Soviet medium tank
T-34 medium tank was uncovered in the marsh near the village Makarovo on summer 2004. It sunk in the mud during the battle and was fired point-blank. There are three holes in the turret easily visible on the picture. As a result of that shooting all ammunitions inside detonated and the tank was simply torn in pieces.
Two T-34 (T-34) Soviet medium tanks
Parts of two blown tanks were found in 2002. During the time of retreat on summer 1941 those then very rare T-34s were driven into the river and destroyed by their crews due to absence of fuel.
After the surfacing of fragments it was clarified that those tanks were
experimental vehicles, some of the first tanks of this type delivered to the front.
