“Stalinets” S-65  («Ñòàëèíåö» Ñ-65) Soviet tractor

This Soviet tractor was found in the lake Beloe near the town of Gorodok. During the war it was used to tow an artillery gun. Tractor driver wrongly considered that the ice at the lake is thick enough and tried to tow a gun using shorter way. The result was obvious - tractor fell through the ice together with its load. Gun was saved by its crew, and tractor laid 11 meters under water till last years.

This surfacing was one of the hardest in Club’s history: steel ropes tore twice. When it happened first time the diver was held down there by falling tractor. It was really miracle that the diver survived. Only third attempt to surface that vehicle was successful. The tractor was produced in Cheliabinsk. It came out of the water in a good shape and became a part of exhibition in one of Russian museums.
