PAK-36(r) German gun (Soviet F-22 gun redesigned by Germans)

The story about this gun is very interesting itself.

It was abandoned on the battlefield by Germans during their fast retreat on summer 1944, but not for a long period of time. Local man, who collaborated with Germans as a village policeman, found it. Hoping for German Army return he took the gun to his garden and buried it there. After

liberation and reestablishing of the Soviet Power that man was convicted as a “traitor of Motherland” and sent to the prison. He had served his term and came back to the village keeping complete silence about the gun. But all those years his nearest neighbours were very much interested and suspicious about one point: during almost every thunderstorm lightning stroke the same place in the man’s garden (actually, there was the place where he buried the gun). This strange natural phenomenon became the point of great interest for generations of local people, but former policeman kept his secret. He disclosed it in 2000 while been drunk during public holiday. The gun was dug up (it came to the surface as a big piece of heavily corroded metal) and restored after almost two years of hard work.

In fact, this is the Soviet  F-22 (Ô-22) gun designed with the great possibility of further updating. It was captured by Germans at the beginning of War and slightly redesigned - German shield and muzzle-break were added. Under the name of PAK-36(r) it was used by German Army. There is well preserved shield on the gun barrel containing basic data about Soviet artillery production plant and well recognizable German text on the gun-carriage. Such an unusual combination…
