Our specialists have investigated one of the former crossings on the Luchessa River in full details. That crossing was based on a heavy pontoon set N2P. That time it was the only type of pontoon capable of handling a load of up to 60 metric tons.
There are mountains of scientific researches, documental and historical literature, and fictions written about The Great Patriotic War within last fifty years. But in-spite of this, the history of The War still contains a lot of "white spots".
We learn about it not only from the eye witnesses, but during our work in archives, too.
Our technical specialists found one more war time river crossing on the Luchessa River between two villages - Miaklovo and Noviki in Vitebsk Region.
The location of former crossing was searched by our technicians in details.
Local people told us about the Soviet aircraft which crashed near the Luchessa River (to the south of the village Noviki) during the WW II.
This coincided with the official data taken from the Russian Central Military Archive.
Part of the river bank slipped down during the wash-out process and two very rusted spare barrels for German machine-gun were recovered from the soil.
After completion of the washing we were able to bring part of the landing boat out of the river. This piece of job was quite dangerous, because the boat was filled with some small caliber munitions.
This year real winter came to Belarus only in February. Then "Poisk" began to perform another job - the recovery of the Soviet T-34-76 medium tank near the village Grebnitsa in Vitebsk District. The vehicle's precise location was checked with magnetometer.
After that the ice, silt and mud was removed from the funnel.
At the end of October, 2006 our Research Group checked some marshes in Vitebsk and Liozno Districts. There was a Front Line there since autumn 1943 until summer 1944. The Soviet Army made a number of attempts to brake through German positions
